Since its premiere in Rome in 1900, the tragic story of a singer Tosca and a painter Cavaradossi fascinates audiences all around the world. Even though it preserves original time and place, the allegorical concept of the stage director Vladimír Morávek has become the most discussed art creation of the past season. The title role is in alternation created by the leading soloist of The National Theatre, Eva Urbanová, who debuted in 1998 on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York also with Tosca. The extremely good cast is a guarantee that this production will embellish the repertoire of the Opera also in this season.
