Specialized critics, listeners as well as musical colleagues describe Ivan Ženatý as the most important Czech violinist of the present time. This violin virtuoso repeatedly appears as a guest with famous international ensembles, such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra London, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Berliner Symphoniker, Orquesta Nacional de España, as well as leading Czech orchestras such as the Czech Philharmonic, FOK and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. Also his solo and chamber projects (complete Bach’s solo sonatas and Beethoven’s and Brahms’s sonatas from the last few seasons) attract great attention. With his incredibly rich repertoire which includes more than fifty violin concertos Ivan Ženatý addresses a wide audience without leaving the world of classical music even for a second. Besides the obvious technical perfection, his taste for style and captivating beauty of tone are appreciated. Thanks to the New York Harmony Foundation Ivan Ženatý plays Giuseppe Guerini’s rare violin “del Gesù” from 1740. Besides masterclasses in Germany, Spain, USA and Canada, he accepted professorship at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music.
